After weeks of planning and a hefty £2,000 investment, it’s finally done—our TTG Goody Bags are ready to be handed out to our valued patients as a token of gratitude. It’s a moment of achievement, mixed with relief and reflection on the lessons learned along the way. Why Create a Goody Bag?


At The Tinnitus Guy (TTG), we’ve always been about more than just providing services. We are driven by a commitment to improving people’s lives. This ethos aligns with our values of "unreasonable hospitality" and "the legacy is the impact."


The goody bag idea stemmed from the desire to create a memorable and meaningful experience for our patients. Imagine reinvesting a portion of our profits to gift customers something unexpected—a tangible thank-you that leaves a lasting impression. The aim? To not just meet expectations but exceed them in a way that fosters connection and loyalty.


Is It Really an Investment?


Redefining ROI


Typically, an investment means allocating resources with the expectation of a financial return. In this case, we’re spending £2,000 on gifts that generate no immediate monetary gain. So, how does this qualify as an investment?


The answer lies in a concept I recently came across in a podcast by Omar Eltakrori and Chris Do. They spoke about branding as building trust equity. Steve Jobs described branding as creating surplus trust in the "bank."


This is exactly what I aim to achieve. By spending money on something surprising, memorable, and valuable for patients, I hope to deposit trust into our "bank." Over time, this trust can yield returns in the form of customer loyalty, word-of-mouth referrals, and a strengthened brand reputation.


The Long-Term Payoff

People talk. When patients recommend an audiology service, I want TTG to be the first name that comes to mind. This is already happening; just yesterday, a repeat customer shared positive feedback about our price adjustments, recognising the value we provide.


Investing in customer experience attracts loyal clients who value our service. This enables us to deliver even more value, creating a virtuous cycle.


Unexpected Opportunities


There’s an Arabic proverb: "Fil haraka baraka"—"There is blessing in activity." When you’re active and purposeful, opportunities arise. Recently, a local GP approached us to advertise in their appointment booklets. These moments of serendipity often come when you align actions with purpose.

With increased visibility through social media campaigns, this concept could evolve into something even bigger, offering greater value to both patients and partners.

Ultimately, this initiative isn’t just about giveaways. It’s about staying true to our values and creating a meaningful impact. While the financial returns are yet to be seen, the investment in trust and goodwill is already yielding intangible rewards.
